The Dream Collectors
Exhibition: The Dream Collectors
In the exhibition Dream Collectors, the artist Katarina Eismann delves into our dreams and what repercussions they can have in one place and at different times. Katarina takes her starting point in her own family story about Erik Josephson from Svanby who more than 100 years ago dreamed of founding a theater in Tierp. The house at Salutorget was built, scenographers made decorations and a dream took shape. But before the theater had time to open, Erik went bankrupt and the disaster was a fact.
Katarina Eismann (b. 1958) is educated at Kungl. Stockholm Academy of the Arts. She has participated in several exhibitions, artistic designs and projects both in Sweden and internationally. The Modern Museum, the Luleå Biennale, the Marabou Park and the Forum for Living History are some of the places where her work has been shown. Eismann's work can also be seen in several public collections, including the Swedish Arts Council. Katarina Eismann has done several cross-border projects and has, among other things. worked with questions about the design of what is passed on after the trauma. In 2021, she was awarded the Tierp municipality's work scholarship for artistic activities for the project "Dream Collectors".
